PEP-A-STEP a Rose of Hope Foundation, Inc. early start education program
What is Pep-A-Step? Pep-A-Step was originally designed as a tutoring program to encourage youth to remain dedicated to their academics. Established in 2004, students received 1:1 assistance with their homework assignments, coupled with tutoring home visits. Now the Pep-A-Step program has evolved into a program targeted to help students ages 4-6 develop competencies that will help them academically integrate into the school system as they enter Kindergarten. Students will learn science, social studies, language, and math. Students will also participate in engaging hands-on activities and projects. The Pep-A-Step program runs from August-May and connects with our summer program, Rose of Hope Summer Camp that takes place in June-July.
What will students learn? For physical development, students will participate in motor gym. For social/emotion development, students will have interactive play and develop self-help and decision-making skills For language development, students will engage in stories, plays, and poetry. For the development of scientific knowledge, students will complete experiments and journals. For mathematical development, students will engage in activities that teach logic and critical thinking, and number recognition.
